SSDs, Hard Drives & Memory

An SSD is the most effective, affordable upgrade for any laptop or PC — boot in seconds and run apps far faster. We also stock surveillance drives for camera systems of every size.

Quick buying guide

What to know before you choose

SATA or NVMe?

A 2.5" SATA SSD fits any laptop or PC with a standard drive bay, at around 550 MB/s. NVMe fits an M.2 slot at 3,500 to over 7,000 MB/s. We check your machine and tell you which fits.

PCIe 3.0, 4.0 or 5.0?

Each generation is faster; a newer SSD works in an older slot at the slot’s speed. For everyday use the difference is small, but it matters for editing, design and large file transfers.

Choosing capacity

256–500GB is enough for Windows and office apps; 1TB for design, games and lots of files. For cheap bulk space, pair an SSD for Windows with a hard drive for files.

Surveillance or desktop HDD?

Camera recorders need a surveillance drive (WD Purple or Seagate SkyHawk), built to write 24/7 from many cameras without dropped frames.
